We were introduced to Rock Band 2 about three months ago and have been playing practically every day since.

We bought Rock Band 1 just to import the songs into 2. With just a $4.99 import fee, it was well worth it to get an additional 50 or so songs.

You have to love Rock Band. From the opening video to all the gameplay, you do feel as though you’re following a real rock band (punk, goth, whatever you prefer) from its beginnings to stardom. Along the way, you get to help out with gameplay that beats out the Guitar Hero series. For me, the track list is pretty great, and lots of other great music is available for download (try “Love Spreads” by the Stone Roses or “Train In Vain” by The Clash). My only gripe is that you end up in situations where you’re forced to play a song you really don’t like, made worse when it is super long (“Detroit Rock City,” “Green Grass and High Tides,” “Train Kept A-Rollin’”.) And solo play is lackluster, something that was fixed in subsequent Rock Band releases. Nowadays this game is a great value and highly recommended for anyone who likes rock music.

Rock Band is a really fun game with a lot of good songs.

    the negatives are:

-the loading time even for a PS3 still takes a bit of time to load up.

-the medium mode is too easy but the hard mode is too hard. There should be more consistency in the medium mode.

other than that, good game with good songs. And now it’s lowered in price, an even better bargain.

I bought this after Rock Band 2, and it was still fun, the songs on this one are good and it’s an overall great game.

I am a firm believer in family fun etc. This was great especially when you invite other families over, we like watching the kids play but I think that they liked to watch us play even more. And trying to explain the long haired, makeup wearing guys of the 80′s was great too. I reall hope they make a game w/ kids songs!!!
