This game works on Windows 98 Second Edition, not on plain Windows 98 as advertised. I kept the CD as I plan to upgrade my operating system soon.

I have always loved Scrabble and this game is just what I was looking for.Today there are many versions of Scrabble but I like to play a simple game without a lot of extras and this fits the bill. It does have a fast paced version for those who like challenges but it is kept relatively simple, just to my liking.

a fun version of scrabble for the computer.

i question some of the words though…it wouldnt acknowledge the word ‘zen’ but would acknowlege a word ‘qi’?????

8 levels of difficulty though i rarely beat the veteran level which appears to be the halfway level.

    pleasant game tones and music.

We often enjoy playing Scrabble at home, so it is nice being able to play on the computer to keep one’s skill set up. I installed this on 2 of our computers, one with Windows Vista and the other with Windows XP Media Edition. It works perfectly on both and fortunately doesn’t require leaving the CD in to play, which I understand had been the case in prior Scrabble editions. The interface is very user friendly in my opinion, and started playing right away. Now if only I could play scrabble as well as the computer does on master or genius level…

After receiving my order I was worried that it would not work with Vista as the package indicated it was for winxp. I already had a winXP version of Complete Scrabble and that one would not work on my Vista Home 64 bit machine. After a painless install, I am happy to report that it works great. I tried using the game without keeping the disc in the drive. I was able to play several games without problems at first. Then I did have 2 instances of “scrabble has closed due to an unknown error” but once I put the disc back in the drive, it worked well again.

I would have given 5 stars if I didn’t need to keep the disc in the machine. Otherwise I am very happy.
