It was fun, but not what i expected i guess. It was done way too quick. Also, when it said 2 player, i was guessing it was for the game as a whole, but you can only play 2 players for a simple dueling match, which is pretty dumb. It has great graphics, but the game was over before I knew it, and Im not a big “gamer” at all, so if you like a challenge, this is not that much of a challenge. We already sold it after about a week of having it.

While Hogwarts is nicely recreated, the movement feedback and interest in the game is lacking. Lots of dialogue while you wait. While the serial nature tells a story, all in all, we found it boring. We don’t own any other Harry Potter games for Wii, but of the several Wii games we do own, this is by far the worst.

    1. Quidditch is simply a matter of pointing at the center of the screen.

    2. Potions gets old quickly. Very quickly.

    3. Duels aren’t too complex either.

Even walking is a bit awkward (compare this movement to flying in Island Flyover for example) – even frustrating at times. Waiting for the next dialog to end gets old too.

We sincerely wish we hadn’t purchased this game.

Quick review on this game. I was a bit disapointed after paying full price for this game at a store to see that this game was literally completed finished in under 3-4 hours of 1 straight through play session. There’s some replay value with the “endless” day that you get after beating the game, so that you can run around and gain additional crests and duel in the “house clubs”, but these honestly didn’t hold my interest long. I managed about 130/150 total crests before I said enough is enough.

Great fun while the game lasted, but the game is SHORT, very short. Definitely not worth the money of a full priced game at the moment. Wait till the price drops / becomes a bargain bin purchase.

Unlike the last two Harry Potter games, this one is a little bit easier to play and enjoy. We are doing it on a Wii system for the first time and enjoying the large screen aspect of it. Wonder if the computer game is the same and might buy one of them after we conquer this.
