I enjoy playing this game. The only thing I think is stupid is the part of falling off logs and trying to climb up the side of the mountain. It is impossible to do !! The same with bear den and trying to climb the fallen tree to escape. The manual doesn’t say anything on how to climb. It is very frustrating! I am ready to give up. If it would not have that part, I would rate the game much higher.

Great game. A must have. This is a great switch of pace from other shooter games. You hunt geese, rabbit, deer, ram, bear, jaguar, etc. Also, there’s a part where you have to shoot a bear and another part where you have to shoot a cougar. You have to balance youself as you cross logs over caverans. Lot’s of fun. There’s also a shooting gallery that you can practice shooting and there’s different guns to shoot with.
I buy a lot of games that eventually I get quickly bored of; but this game is a great switch from all the other game remakes. Cudoos. 5 Stars.

I am glad to see that PS3 is finally coming out with some good hunting games. Haven’t played this one lately, but I have enjoyed it so far. Only bad thing is when they give you a hunt with special weapons they should have the weapons unlocked. Had a hunt with a crossbow and didn’t get the crossbow until after I finished that area.

Some animals are realistic. Bears do chase you but Mountain Lions do not! The Truth about wildcats is they only attack when theyre hungry or you provoke them. If theyre not hungry they will move on. But overall this game is fun.

I’ve only been introduced to the series for about a week now and I was playing Cabela’s Big Game Hunter on the PS2. Now I know the game isn’t the greatest due to the graphics and it being an older system and all, but the only aspect of the game that gave me a problem was the fishing aspect. In the newer version Cabela’s Gig Game Hunter 2010 the graphics have made a huge leap in the right direction and some of the in game chalenges are quite fun to play. If you didn’t enjoy the fishing portion in the older games than this one is for you, fish are spared in this game and I’m glad.
If your not into the whole hunting game and don’t want to shell out $40 than I say at least rent in and enjoy the graphics as well as hunting big game animals.
P.S. No real animals were hurt durning the making of this game.
