Maybe I just don’t like racing games… but I think this game sucks. It came “free” with a package including a headset (the Microsoft one that last about a day before becoming a worthless piece of garbage), a chatpad, a 1-year XBox-Live subscription… which to me means “this game sucks so bad we have to give it away because nobody in their right mind would want to pay money for it. Hey… I’m going to take this one to GameStop and unload it for maybe $1 worth of store credit. BRILLIANT!!!
If you’re into suck… by all means buy this, because it’s chock full of sucky badness.

PGR4 sucks in so many ways. I bought this game because I thought it would be awesome visually, but the graphics are actually pretty dull. They just didn’t impress me. It just wasn’t very pretty or interesting to look at. The cars handle REALLY badly! Most of the cars seem to handle MUCH worse than real life cars. I crashed into the corners so much that it’s like I was playing bumper cars. The cars slip and slide so much, they handle worse than a BOAT!! You might as well be driving on a glass surface lubricated with oil! This is nothing like when I drive my own car! Next, the tracks are terrible! Most of the time the tracks are extremely narrow, often just ONE lane wide. PLUS they have many ridiculously sharp turns, which means you have to come to almost a full stop to go around them without crashing. This is just absolutely horrible! It really ruins the flow of the driving and ruins any possible enjoyment when you have to crash and crawl around all these stupid, narrow hairpin turns. Also the game gives you NO sense of speed. Like when you are driving 130 miles per hour, it looks like you are driving only 30 miles per hour. This game feels SLOW. Since I drive a car of my own, I should know what different speeds look like, and driving in PRG4 does not feel fast at all. So when you put all the above really bad elements together, you have a game that really really blows. There is just no sense of fun, imagination, or beauty in PRG4. They obviously put almost no effort into making the gameplay fun. Also, I really disliked that they give you only really lame, stupid cars in the beginning and you have to play this awful game for hours and hours in order to be able to buy the really cool cars. Lastly – they left out Paris!!! Paris is my favorite city! That really sucks! I really wanted to drive past the Eiffel tower. Everyone knows that Paris is the most beautiful, fabulous city in the world, so it was really stupid to leave it out of PRG4. I feel gypped by that! I really think they put very little effort into this “game.” I don’t think it’s truly a game. I think it’s just something they slapped together without fully developing something that’s fun and interesting to play. Trackmania United is far better than PRG4 or any other racing game. I also liked San Francisco Rush. I wish they’d make new versions of those games for Xbox 360.

What have they done to this game? I’ve never been a huge racing fan, but R4: Ridge Racer was one of my all time favorite games. It was just crazy fun. Recently, I found Project Gotham 3 in a used bin and I bought it for $4. It ends up that the game was absolutely brilliant. It was just like R4, only better.
So, after beating the game, I immediately ran out and bought PGR 4, and also Forza 2, even though Forza was a different style racing game. Anyway, I put in PGR4, my hands twitching to race at ludicrous speeds once again.
After 2 races, I crashed my motorcycle and came in last. No big deal, I assured myself. It’s all about the cars, not the bikes.
I raced three races, on easy difficulty, with a car I was familiar with from PGR3.
I came in last every time. Normally, not being a big race game fan, I’d have excused my lack of winning as a lack of skill. Again, not a huge race fan.
BUT I HAD JUST ANNIHILATED PGR3 ONLY HOURS EARLIER.
How different did it have to be, the perfect racing game? Why even mess with success? I don’t know exactly what was tweaked, but it was enough to turn what had been a superb racing game into a complete suckfest. After a few more failed attempts at enjoyment, I LITERALLY THREW THE GAME AWAY.
Good riddance.

I would like to comment for a minute on how terrible this game is. Usually I do not like to leave reviews for anything, it’s just not my style; however, after recently playing this game, I became so irritated that I felt it completely necessary to share my anger with others. First off, it is not a racing game. It is a game about elementary “showing off” on a course with fancy cars. You get points for power slides, wheelies, peeling out, and all sorts of other things you cringe if it happened to you on a real race track. You may think to yourself, “that sounds like fun!” And believe me, it does! But in the harsh reality we live in, it is not. In fact, it is far from fun. You cannot race whichever car you please whenever you please. I personally like growing through the ranks with a terrible car and slowly tuning it up and saving enough money to buy another car. You are required to follow guidelines and only cars within a certain “class,” which shows how poorly of a developed game it is. I thought the game was about free spirited driving. Well which is it Bizarre? Ladies and gentleman, listen to me, please. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!! DO NOT EVEN RENT IT!! DO NOT EVEN ALLOW THOUGHTS OF POSSESSING THIS GAME IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM EVEN COME INTO YOUR MIND!! and what in the world is up with Kudos? Speaking of Kudos, congratulations on developing such an awful piece of non-entertainment.
