I’ll write a more in-depth review later. For now, I have to mention the game looks GREAT! I’ve just gotten the game and already there’s a new move I can do that Round 3 boxers couldn’t.

However, a MAJOR thing that SUCKS for me in this game is that there is absolutely NO option to have the Controller configeration to be for the buttons. Yep, I’m a button masher.

I’ve played all the Fight Night Games and let me tell you, I win most of my fights. Button mashing does work despite what Round 3 tries telling you.

I HATE the total punch control of these games. More often than not, I find myself throwing a punch that I clearly did not throw. Button mashing is far more accurate and this game, so far, has lost major points for not allowing me to do what I wish with button mashing.

DOes that mean I’m going to give the game back and get a refund? Not quite yet. I’ll give this LAME total punch control a try. I think it’d only be fair if I did. Like they say, don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

However, I highly doubt I’ll like it. So, I will probably turn this game back in for my refund and say, “Thanks EA Sports for putting out a much anticipated game that doesn’t include the button mashing option for my controller. Not everyone likes the total punch control system. Button mashers, like myself, need to have this option. You’ve just lost a customer”

    See ya.

I am a HUGH Fight night round 3 fan and have played for hours and hours online, for years now. I could not wait for the new round of this series to come out though out the year. Now that the day is here I am Extremely Disappointed! They have taken away the punch button option and you can now only use the analog stick. I can honestly say FNR3 is one of my favorite games but the controls for FNR4 are horrible and in my opinion they’ve ruined the series.

This game was very poorly designed, executed, and plainy flawed in very aspect of gameplay.

This is a great game don’t get me wrong… The graphics are sweet the punches are fluid. The upgrades from the last game are great… But the controls were a risky move. Not being able to have the option to switch controls to buttons sucks. I play with the buttons and the the stick but I no longer have that option… I think I’ll go UFC or wait for Tekken 6 although those 2 very different games from Fight Night they provide a better fighting experience for the GAMERS NEED

Fight night round 4 may be the most anticipated game of the year but it’s a big disappointment for the fight night round 3 fans. Not because they have taken away the buttons but the actual game play suffers, it’s like I’m playing face breaker or a totally different franchise of game altogether. The graphics take away the seriousness of feeling like you’re in a real fight (Facebreaker again) you have to use the analog stick to throw all the punches, and it’s real hard to go to the body in this game. Yes there are new boxers in the game such as Tommy Morrison, Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, George, Foreman, Eddie Chambers just to name a few in the heavyweight division but every fighter selected I could not tell the difference in style. All you will recognize is the Height and reach advantages. The only good thing about this game is the music and the fact it allows you to upload your own personal picture to play as yourself online or against the computer but even that does not make this game exciting! and yanking that Analog stick all the time does get annoying as sometimes you try to throw a hook and you end up throwing a uppercut instead. The game play is no different then the demo, so if you did not like the demo you certainly wont like the game. It’s safe to say Fight Night round 4 really does suck!
